Fall 2026 anime schedule at a glance

The most anticipated anime of fall 2026

In Anime Corner’s fan poll (7,601 voters), Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 came first with 16.42% of the votes, just ahead of The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 (15.16%). Blue Box Season 2 (6.29%) and Black Clover Season 2 (5.47%) completed the top four. Here is what each of the big ones is about and why it is worth your time.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 (Netflix)

Four years after the first season became one of Netflix’s biggest anime hits, Studio Trigger returns to Night City with a standalone story and an all-new cast. Director Kai Ikarashi leads this 10-episode season, and Netflix is dropping all episodes at once on October 20, 2026, so expect spoilers everywhere within days. No need to have played Cyberpunk 2077 or to rewatch the first season, although both add context.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 (Crunchyroll)

Maomao is back on October 2, with OLM still animating. The new arc pulls her into a mystery tied to an immortal maiden, while famine and locusts threaten the land. If you liked the slow-burn palace intrigue of the first two seasons, this is the safest pick of the season. Crunchyroll has announced dubs in 12 languages, including English.

STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure 2nd Stage (Netflix)

David Production continues its adaptation of Part 7, the cross-country horse race many fans consider the best JoJo story. Unlike past JoJo drops, Netflix releases this stage weekly, with new episodes every Friday.

Blue Box Season 2 (Netflix)

Netflix’s biggest sports-romance anime returns with Taiki and Chinatsu. The second season started airing in Japan on October 4, 2026, and Netflix has confirmed it for October.

Black Clover Season 2 (Crunchyroll)

After years of waiting, Asta’s story resumes on October 3 with Studio Pierrot, picking up with the raid on the Spade Kingdom to rescue the captured captains.

Tokyo Revengers: War of the Three Titans Arc (Disney+)

The final saga of Tokyo Revengers premiered in Japan on October 2 (technically early October 3) and streams exclusively on Disney+ worldwide (Hulu in the US), with one episode a week. The first part runs until mid-December.

Ranma ½ Season 3 (Netflix)

MAPPA’s remake of Rumiko Takahashi’s classic is back on October 3, with new episodes every week on Netflix right after the Japanese broadcast.

Hidden gems to watch this season

• Firefly Wedding (Crunchyroll, Oct 9): a 19th-century romance that turns into a deadly road trip when a noblewoman makes a marriage offer to her own kidnapper. From David Production, the JoJo studio.
• The Vermilion Mask (Crunchyroll, Oct 10): a dark seinen revenge story about a mask maker possessed by a warrior god.
• Magic Knight Rayearth (Crunchyroll, Oct 7): a full remake of CLAMP’s 90s classic, one of the original isekai.
• PSYREN (Crunchyroll, coming soon): the long-awaited adaptation of Toshiaki Iwashiro’s Shonen Jump series, animated by Satelight.
