What is Nocturne about?

Jonah Lynn, a former soldier turned homicide detective, leaves the tough streets of Philadelphia for a small town in western Pennsylvania, hoping for a quiet life. Then the serial killer Jurek Walter attacks the town and Jonah’s family, and Jonah has to protect everything he holds dear. When the search for Jurek’s final missing victim pulls FBI Agent Saga Bauer, Jonah’s surrogate daughter, into a direct confrontation with him, Jonah must decide how far he will go to protect the people he loves.

• Stephen Graham as Jurek Walter
• Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr in supporting roles (Apple has not listed their characters)

Who made Nocturne and is it based on a book?

Yes. The series is based on the Lars Kepler novels The Sandman and Lazarus, according to Apple’s July announcement; its later trailer release names The Sandman only. Lars Kepler is the pen name of the married Swedish writers Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril, who are also executive producers.

Rowan Joffé created the series for television and writes and executive produces it. John Hlavin developed it, writes, executive produces and serves as showrunner. Tim Van Patten directs the first two episodes. A+E Studios and Range Studios produce.

Is there an official Nocturne trailer?

Yes. Apple TV released the trailer and key art on September 29, 2026. We have not embedded it here because the copies we could verify were reuploads rather than Apple’s own channel. You can watch it on the official Apple TV page.
